Hello Everyone, I am new to the list as well as a new mom. I just got a diamond back terrapin. I am not sure exactly how old he is (2 1/2in. carapace) He was captive bred and raised in fresh water. He is a great eater and has quite the personality, not afraid of anything. I have been researching these turtles for a few years now but I still have quite a few questions as I have never had the experience with them. My first question is would you suggest keeping a little salt in the water even though he was raised in fresh? I figure this would help keep his skin and shell heathy since they are prone to infections and such. He is in a 29gal. aquarium with a basking area and plenty of places to hide his water temp. is about 78 deg. and he has a uvb light as well. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free I am open to anything as I want to be succesful in raising my new little guy. Thanks, Kristy __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Auctions – Buy the things you want at great prices. http://auctions.yahoo.com/
