i am rescuing a DBT who for the past 1 1/2 years of its life(that is his age also) lived in a 10 gal. with no uvb or heater. i am not really set up for this but, i do have a 55 gal rubbermaid tub i will set up for him. he is only 3 inches and has eatten only one kind of fish caught in a lake nearby the owners house(!). my questions, can i just put him immediately in a tub with heated water and a uvb when he never was exposed to these conditions before?can i just change his diet overnight ?does the suction cups on the zoomed dock stick to the rubbermaid tub side?what filter can i get for a tub that will be on the ground? and most importantly, i keep my Darla in brackish water. i would like to do the same for the new guy. he has only been in fresh. he is WC as a hatchling and dont think he was exposed to salt water. how would i do this? i know there is an issue with osmosis and how they process the salt ,but i am not sure if it is fresh to brackish or brackish to fresh that you have to be careful with.i dont want to shock the poor guy from one extreme to the other, so if anyone has ideas and can help me i would appreciate it greatly! thanks, karen
