Hey guys, I’m kinda new here, I’ve been a member over at turtle times for about 6 months and have a couple of RES and been looking to get a pair of DBTs. I think I have a pair lined up that I’m gonna get sometime next week but I had a few questions. 1) I have a 55 gallon with a DIY tank topper so the water level is up all the way, is this ok for 2 hatchlings? Can they swim good when they are young (3 or 4 weeks) or should I lower the water level. 2) Water temp, currently is at about 82, the air temp is about 90 and the basking temp is 95, what are the suggested levels, would these be ok or should I adjust them? I’ve read: http://www.geocities.com/EnchantedForest/Creek http://www.diamondbackterrapin.com/ http://chelonia.org/Articles/Malaclemyscare.htm http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/Care/care-dbts.htm But would like to get some advise from some experienced owners. I’m trying to find a book on DBTs but have had no luck. Please lemme know what you think and if you have links to any other good sites_ I want to learn all I can about these awesome turtles. -dave
