Here’s the news. This is what put in the water with my northern: 1)Acriflavin to treat the fungus 2)Jungle aquarium salt to kill of any fungus in the water 3)Tetracycline tablets as a preventative measure against a respiratory infection (i’ve been assured that these medicines will not react negitivly with each other) He’s been doing good, he swims great and I’ve been feeding him two food sticks twice a day (4 total) he eats must of it although he isn’t every good at finding the Reptomin that floats away from him, he eats about 3 food sticks total. He doesn’t like to swim much tho, on his own he does not swim, I put him in the water to feed him, he stays there for about 10 to 15 mins after eating just swimming then goes back to basking, he basks all day usually with his limbs all stretched out, mostly sleeping. He was having trouble opening his eyes if I woke him up from basking the first day or two. It seemed as if they were all dried out, when I put him in the water he opened them perfectly. They are not swollen and there is no mucus coming out of them. So far yesterday and today (since the medicine) he has no trouble opening his eyes at all when I wake him up, he opens them right up! I take the basking area out at night and have a plant in there for him to float on so he get expose to the medicine in the water. I have two questions 1)I plan on keeping up this treatment for the next 5 days, that will give him 7 days in the medicine do you think that is good enough to “fix” the fungus? It looks like its scabbing over already, or should I wait longer? 2) In the 55 gallon (where he will be staying with a concentric and probably a s. paint) I put some Jungle fungus guard (blue looking salt stuff) to kill any fungus that may be in the tank is this sufficient? Should I also add some aquarium salt? 3) I bought these guys from an online turtle store with a good reputation, I told them about the problem, they asked what I would like them to do. should I ask for any reimbursement? I don’t want to “screw” anyone I know these things happen, I just want to be fair. Any suggestions as to what I should do? The northern has about 15 spots of the fungus and the concentric has 2 spots (I have isolated him and given him the same treatment). Thank you everyone for your help so far I am VERY grateful for all of your advice! D. Hendrick
