I’m missing one of my DBTs!!! A headcount this evening came up 1 short in my little backyard pond… I suppose they could have made a turtle pyramid and boosted the little guy over the lip, but even then I have a fenced in yard. Where could he have gone!?!?! A hungry racoon would be my worst fear… but I don’t see any evidence of a late night visit. I even tore my deck apart just in case he slipped underneath. Anybody else ever have a DBT go MIA??? Did they ever turn up again?? Poor little guy… It’s bad enough losing one of the family, but this pretty much derails my breeding program for next spring! I sure hope he turns up soon… So does anyone have any hatchlings yet? Any pictures?? Looks like I might be in the market for additional hatchling or two this year…
DONT GIVE UP THE SHIP{TURTLE}! LOOK EVERYWERE UNDER POTTED PLANTS ROCKS.START AROUND THE POND AND WORK OUTWARDS. I HAD A SMALL DBT ESCAPE AND OUTDOOR ENCLOSURE. I WENT NUTS LOOKING EVERYWERE BUT FOUND HIM WEDGED UNDER A POTTED PLANT NEAR THE POND THAT AT FIRST GLANCE YOU WOULD THINK,NO WAY HE COULD BE UNDER THAT. I HAD ANOTHER THAT MUST HAVE BURIED HIMSELF IN THE SANDBOX REAL GOOD ,CAUSE I LOOKED EVERYWERE FOR HIM,FIGURED A BIRD MUST HAVE GOT HIM AND THEN ONE DAY HE REAPPEARED IN THE POND. jeremy_mott
