oil on the water?

Hi, I got a hatchling about a month ago. Everything is going great, I love the little guy. But there is this sort of oily film on the water. At first I thought it was lotion from my hands but I wash my hands carefully before and after putting them in the water. Any idea what it could be? Thanks a lot 🙂 cheers, Alexie
Do you feed your turtles frozen or fresh fish? Sometimes that happens if you give the turtle really oily foods especially oily fish. What type of filtration are you using on your tank too…… I think stagnant water is a big cause of oily films ontop of water depending on what meaty foods your feeding.
