I have to plead guilty to overfeeding my two Texans. Got them from Janathan Helms last September as little hatchlings. Now one is 3-3/4 inches, the other is 4-3/4 inches. They show some minor bulging in the inguinal notch, but not at the shoulder. Shells look good, no discernable pyramiding. Yet, this explosion in size seems excessive. I now feed them crickets, caterpillars, red wigglers, and mealworms on feeding days, together with Reptomin dipped in Rep-Cal with D3, and a few gammarus pellets. Inside I use the proprietary UVA/UVB bulbs from Big Apple in New York as a source of heat and light. They have proven reliable, and cost about $15 less than the major brands. Dick
