Something simple to pass along – use as you can. This is the most inclusive look I’ve seen of what goes into the paper vs plastic decision: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/graphic/2007/10/03/GR2007100301385.html?hpid=smartlivingI was interested in the costs behind manufacturing paper vs plastic bags, but note: they also mention that hundreds of thousands of sea turtles and marine mammals are consuming these bags each year. I think it’s good to keep in mind that, even when duly placed in the trash/recycling bin, not all plastic bags make it to the landfill. (See also the recycling section – creepy)Familiarity breeds comfort (and perhaps peer pressure!), so keep using your reusable bags. I see more people using them all the time.
