I have a friend with a DBT about a year old, believed to be a female. She says the shell is peeling, she shows no signs on the skin. Does anyone know the possible cause ?

the shell is probably shedding its scutes. yes, I have heard that they shed both skin and scutes (shell) although not necessarily at the same time. mine have only shed skin, that I’ve noticed, and they are about 6 mos and 9 mos I think? I believe the skin shedding slows down after a year, but I am not sure about the shell.Julie Tougas
