FYI I found this article about pet rescue in NYC in USA TODAY. Also, Fox News Channel gave the Animal Care and Control telephone number for pet rescue of NYC victim’s pets: 888-567-8123. I wonder if any of the WTC victims were dbt owners? Bob ——————- 09/13/2001 – Updated 05:36 PM ET Animal leagues seek to rescue pets of attack victims HOBOKEN, N.J. (AP) A different sort of rescue is going on in Hudson County. The Hudson County Animal League is hoping to find pets of people presumed dead and missing after Tuesday’s attacks in New York. “Many residents in the area worked in downtown Manhattan,” said Tracey Mollis, a volunteer with the league. “Our immediate concern is to find out where these animals are located.” Volunteers are telephoning local health departments to compile lists of registered pet owners. Hoboken’s health department provided the league with 600-name list as part of the emergency plan. “Everybody is aware of the plan, and we hope they will pull through with lists so we can look out for these animals,” Mollis said. Mollis said many New York-based workers who live in New Jersey have hired dog-walkers, and it’s important to alert them as well.
