So I am just wondering if anyone here has turtles that beg for food like crazy! My three little go absolutly crazy when I come over to the tank and act as if they havent eatin in weeks even though I feed em every day! I feed them plenty of food more than I should probably! They are just soo cute when they beg! My oldest largest female will seriously try and climb out of the tank to come up to me when she see’s me with the food container! Does anyone eles have DBT that are this excited about eating? I guess I would say I feed three turtles ( 2 about 3-5 yrs old and 1 about 2 yrs ) a good 1/4 of a cup to mabye 1/3 of a cup of a day apx.– I have had different breeds of turtles for years and still do but the DBs are the crazziest about food by far I must say – Am I feeding too much – Mabye not enough?– Any ideas??– Thanks — Heather–
Attachments :Hi Heather, We have 2 DBT’s, about 6 years old that we found as babies in the road. They very much behave in the same manner as you describe. They even get excited when they see us go to the sink because they hope we are filling up there feeding tub. We have also had to lower the water level so they can’t stand on each others back on their basking dock to climb out. I think these guys would act starved no matter what. Sometimes when I pet their heads if they are freaking out for food and they calm down.
