I have an adopted terrapin I asked about last year. Her beak was really overgrown from a bad diet. (photo under Kord’s Lucky). After a summer outside her beak looks normal, but she’s still having some trouble chewing things. She has big bumps inside her mouth that make it hard for her to keep things in her mouth and chew them. I’m assuming those are the bite plates. Will they also wear down over time, or should I take her down to one of the herp vets in MD? I didn’t leave her out to hibernate because she seems a little thin compared to this Spring. She’s also started this strange habit of smacking her jaws together like an old lady who’s missing her dentures. Every so often she’ll also blow out a huge cloud of bubbles. Naturally, I couldn’t get her to do it for the camera. I’ll put a couple pictures in the same folder (Kord’s Lucky) after I send this.
