Quick beginner question or two.

Hello I have a CB DBT (centrata). It is 10grams and has a 4 cm shell (not sure how old that is). It is in a ten gallon tank, with a small Zoo Med floating log, UVB light and a 20 gallon filter system. I have added 1/2 teaspoon of Oceania per gallon of water and it eats commercial water turtle food. My concern is that it doesn’t get out of the water long enough to dry off. I have only seen it once get on its log, but he is usually in the log. I take him out at night so that he can get his shell dry and put him back in its tank in the morning. Is this okay or should I just leave it in the tank all the time? Question 2. At what setting should I leave his filter on. It its full power the filer will clean the tank but he gets quite the work out trying to swim with all of the currents. If I leave the setting on low will it clean the tank good enough?
