charizards …where are you that you have loads of these turtles in your area? It would be better if you could get hatchlings rather than mature adults due to the hatchlings becoming accoustomed to fresh water. Older adults have acclimated to brackish salty water and do not do well in captivity in just fresh water. However, hatchlings raised in fresh water will acclimate to fresh water without problems. Incidentally you are right …they are gorgeous turtles…have real personalities and in most cases are docile with even temperaments. rcftx
I completely agree with Rich, adults are very very hard to take care of especially if you haven’t worked with them before. There are several people that are breeding them in captivity and you would be a lot better off getting a captive born diamondback terrapin.
