    Hi. Ref the calcium sand, I am a Uromastyx keeper and on the uro list-serv. We have had many discussions regarding this product. Seems that since it is a manufactured sand, it has rough edges and can lock together in a reptiles digestive tract which then can lead to impaction and death. Really bad stuff for juvenile geckos and other lizards. When they are impacted they die from dehydration. Play sand, on the other hand is natures product and apparently has rounder edges and is not prone to impaction in herps. Many Uromastyx keepers keep their herps on play sand.
