I do know the populations from which my terrapins came. The babies that others in the group recently acquired came from a male and female of different population origins. Big pink is about to have a new owner since tomorrow is the last day I will take bids. She originated from the same area that the father of this years babies. They are all from the nothern section of the west-side peninsula. As far as Bermuda, The terrapins would have to be of interior lagoons and estuaries. The waves and deep moving water is not to their liking. They may be in open salt 28ppt.(this is true for hatchlings as well), or almost completely fresh. I know of them swimming beside sliders in a resort’s freshwater lagoon adjacent to shore. I also know of breeding populations a few miles off shore without access to any fresh or brackish water (other than rain). I know of an island that will become totally submerged with salt water in a hurricane yet sustains a strong breeding population.
