Hi Vickie!! I am a zoo keeper at the zoo and I care for all the animals in the aquatics building and the harbor seal exhibit. It’s a small zoo, so I do just about everything from maintaining the filtration systems and testing water quality to training the seals and educational programs. It can get very busy, even in the winter. We have four Northern Diamondback Terrapins. We keep them in a brackish water exhibit. However, when we feed them off exhibit they are fed in fresh water. Their diet consist of turtle brittle, chopped fish, squid, live feeders, and worms. There are also shells at the bottom of their exhibit which they munch once in a while. I am excited to try other enrichment items from the list I received a few weeks ago from a group member. I’m sure the terrapins will too!! Kristy
