(49′ Retic) Hello All, I was sent a few different webpages on that amazing 49′ animal If It Is 100% TRUE. They said it was in a very remote/small village and no photo’s were taking or available to take, but another said it was caught last year and just not put on display or something to the public? Zoo? I mean, I’m sure almost anything is possible but most are kinda unlikely especially on the fact that loss of all that is, what’s left of natural untouched Pristine habitat. But a picture of that animal in it’s natural untouched habitat and wasn’t taking from the wild, would mean and have done so much more for the animals, myself, and I’m sure a lot of other animal Conservationists knowing that snakes (And All Animals) are there and able to thrive properly without man interfering (except when needed, as All Animals Need Our Help!!! and since the majority of animals had FALLEN FROM US!!!) http://hometown.aol.com/edexotics/RainforestsExoticsMain.html CNN.com - Official: World's largest snake in Indonesia - Dec. 29, 2003 http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/asiapcf/southeast/12/29/offbeat.giant.snake.ap/index.html FOXNews.com - Top Stories - Zoo Claims to Have World's Largest Snake http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,106990,00.html

Both BBC and Yahoo News now have pics of the beast. Very large indeed, but doesn’t seem to be quite 49ft. in my opinion. In addition, it was also reported that one of the snake’s keepers originally said it was 19m but they had to chop off 4m due to a rotting goat carcass inside it??!! http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=sl&g=events/sc/123003snakes&e=1 -Chun

I am skeptical… For one the “2.8 feet in diameter” is bull. With a dog inside it might be 2.8 ft. in CIRCUMFERENCE. I would have to see second source confirmation on the 48 feet in length. It might get that but there needs to be alot more snake under the rail it is on… Big snake none the less. Scott — In diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com, “Stephen Chew”

I was intrigued, so I took a piece of dental floss and did some size comparisons between the keeper, another male visitor, and the snake. My guesstimates are that it’s between 25′ and 35′ long… Last I heard, Guinness Book of World Records was sending JLo and Ice Cube over to verify its size… -Chun — In diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com, “macrospilota”
