“That is not fair.” On the contrary, I think it is. The author was simply trying to tell you in the manner of a joke that this kind of post might not be appropriate for this type of list, no matter how important it might be. (And I for one agree with the message’s sentiment.) The problem here is that if so called “off topic” posts are encouraged on a list (and I am an owner of several), the list soon becomes a public forum with little resemblance to its original purpose for being, in this case, the care, keeping, observation, and conservation of Diamondback Terrapins. Many list owners are very strict about this; I am not, but some of the moderators I “hired” on (they work for free, and do a wonderful job) for some of my lists are, and I respect that. Hope I don’t offend with this message. I just realized that it has been about 8 years since I have even *seen* a Diamondback Terrapin. I used to see them every day when I worked in coastal Georgia…..
