    Hi Lora, If you are really worried about shell rot, you might “dry dock” her for an hour or so outside of the tank. Both my dbts bask, but I am sometimes worried they don’t get completely dry underneath and on their legs, so I take them out once in awhile and set them in a covered outdoor tank with no water. I don’t leave them there very long (max one hour, usually only 1/2 hour) and I make sure they have a shady area to retreat to. They actually stay in the shade most of the time as I think they are afraid to be exposed in a strange place. Anyway, good luck! Nicolebutterfly253
