Hello, I was in Philadelphia’s Chinatown the other day and found three boxes of turtles being sold at a seafood shop. I rescued the two smallest ones (they were $3 each), which I’ve learned are diamondback terrapins. Today I set up a 75 gallon tank with salty water for them (which means my dear old Sonoran mud turtle will have to go in the plastic tub for a while). They have not eaten anything yet, but I just ordered a shipment of worms. You can see some pictures at my web site. They are about 4.5 inches long. http://www.seas.upenn.edu/~echan3/turtles.html

Excellent work rescuing the terrapins! It makes me sick to think of such beautiful creatures being turned into soup. I wish I was able to take on more right now. Just so everyone else knows, there are a few extra spaces in the web address you posted, if you want to see the pix just paste this instead http://www.seas.upenn.edu/~echan3/turtles.html -Scott—– Original Message —-From: ec49_99 http://www.seas.upenn. edu/~echan3/ turtles.html Never miss a thing.
