First I have to say thank you for all your help, the information all of you have provided is absolutely priceless! Thanks you soo much! Here’s an update: I had some Mela fix from my aquarium so I added it in with the northern, his fungus does not seem to be spreading I have not seen any new spots, however I don’t know if he is getting enough “medicine” since he pretty much basks all the time. I’ll pick up some acriflavin and some salt this afternoon. As for the possible respiratory infection, here are my areas of concern, please let me know if I’m just worrying too much or if these habits are a sign of a bigger problem. 1) last night he slept in the basking area, he has not entered the water on his own the past few days. 2) he is having trouble opening his eyes, I put him in the water a few times to wet his eyes, once in the water he opened them fine. 3) I put him under water to see if I could see any bubbles, he let out two from his nose. One the good side however when I put him in the water he swims fine, not lop sided at all. He is eating and is rather excited about food, I have to put him in the water but once he notices it he eats right away. He ate about one food stick this morning and one last night. There is no mucus around his nose and his eyes are not puffy, his limbs do not seem swollen in comparison with the other DBT (in another tank). I read that these are some of the other signs of a respiratory infection that he does not seem to exhibit. Thank you for the link to Chun’s and Jonathan’s websites, I’ve read them both entirely (probably a couple of times now) as well as ATP and a few other pages on various forums and from a web search, I want to know everything I can about these guys so I can take care of them properly. Thanks again for your help D. Hendrick
