Hello, My female diamondbacks (6 years old) have, all of a sudden, developed a discoloration on their shells primarily around the center of their scutes. The discoloration looks different on each turtle; on the dark colored turtle it is a splotchy, light brown color and on the greener one it is a lighter color and splotchy. They have shed scutes before but I never remember their shells being so discolored. Can anyone give me any advice to let me know if they need medical treatment or this is just a normal thing for spring? Also, the area of discoloration doesn’t appear to be any softer than the surrounding shell so hopefully it isn’t shell rot. I’m worried…any help would be greatly appreciated!
