Hi all… I have not posted in forever- but am reaching out for some much needed help- I took one of my three DB’s to a semi knowledgeable reptile vet three days ago. She is acting totally healthy, but I have noticed a film on her shell (as well as on my other two DB’s) thats developed over the last month or so… Honestly thought it was not a big deal. I began noticing some red on her underneath, then I was prompted to go the vet when pieces of her top shell began cracking & falling off-bleeding as well. Vet did a swab test – She has some type of shell bacterial infection…. Prognosis not good…. Plan of action so far- Oral Baytril (antibiotic) daily for about 10 days- The vets ONLY solution!!- My supportive measures are: *Iodine scrub daily (get the film off of the shell), dry for 30 mins then rinse *Apply silvadine cream, dry dock with this for most of the day *Salt bath soak for an hour *Fresh water (for drinking) for a couple hours — How does this sound?? My turtle is REALLY sick all of a sudden- I feel horrible! My other two are starting to show the exact same signs. Im doing the same for them minus the antibiotic. Any thoughts? Thanks so much Heather
