When you have a clutch of babies with a mix of males and females, at what size or age to the females generally start to pull away from the males, size wise?

Hey……..this is a great question! Myself, I don’t have a clue, but I sure would like to know if there was a way of knowing??? Any of you long time breeders got any advice? I realize that this is not an exact science and most folks say that there are no guarantees until the 4 inch mark, but can’t you make a fairly educated guess somewhere along the line? What would you look at……….tail length and width? Head size? General overall size? Anything else??? By the way, I just purchased a DB hatchling from a Breeder that said he had been doing this “breeding thing” long enough that he thought he could pick me out a male. I guess I’ll find out if I got lucky or not about a year from now???? Anyway, I asked this same Breeder to pick me out a female 2 1/2 years ago, and I ended up with a girl, so maybe he’s got the magic touch??? Then again, he could just be flipping a coin since he has a 50/50 chance of success!! Only time will tell.
