I have some new hatchlings, how long does it take fr eye caps an d skin on face to clear up. One of my turts has cloudy eyes and wont eat, I am assuming its shedding.

Hi, I am not familiar with the ‘eye caps and skin on face” being a normal issue as i have never heard of such a thing. To me it sounds like an infection, and if it is, i would suggest you separate the ill turtle and set up a quarantine tank with low water level (so he doesnt have to swim to breath) and keep him warmer than usual and call a vet . I would also contact the breeder. sounds like you have an ill turtle. hopefully someone else will chime in soon.

I doubt he is ill he has been eating voraciously for the past week. Today his eyes look cloudy and seemed a bit foggy. I am assuming he is growing so his skin is molting like a snake. He is very active and has been basking alot today probably to dry his skin out easier. Anyone?

I have a DBT as well and she started to shed because she was eating alot as well but there was never a time when her face sheds only her body nor her eyes being cloudy. I think it maybe some type of bacteria on his skin and face. I will say to call a vet before it get worst.
