Hey all..i have been reading all of the mails and have been a semi active member for several months. I have a (i hope) small problem. i have 2 northern diamondback and a concentric diamondback living together happily (no fighting)in a 40 gallon breeder tank. Today when i went to change their water and filter cartridge, I noticed that my concentric had aquired a defect in the front of its shell. it hasnt been there before since i examine them every other day or so. It is in the tiny scute directly above its neck…right at the beginning of its shell. Although it is only one scute, it looked like it divided or broke and a piece fell off. A whitish area is exposed. I need help on what to do. i dont know what it is from, and havent had to deal with turtle injuries in my years of experience. now i t is seperate d and dry in a tank. any suggestions on how to make it better would be strongly appreciated. I have a shell cream with proteins and conditioners vitashell i think would this be any good in treatment? should i keep it dry? Need help! and want to know if my terp will be ok as long as an infection doesnt set in. Mike

I don’t think you have much to worry about. If the white area is smooth then it is probably new growth.
