Hi, Idon’t usually do much else in this Group but read the e-mails I receive. Since I’ve reised a few from about nickel size I thought I’d respond to this one. It has been my experience that all babies need the vitamin A. Thtre used to make a turtle eye drop that was pink vitamin A drops. I had to treat four Centratas every day for weeks after getiing them to keep their eyes clear. I also used some terramyacin opthalmic salve locally on the eyes applied with a q-tip about twice a week. Without this diligent treatment, I would’vw lost them all I’m convinced. I didn’t get a culture at the time nut was able to clear them up. The water temp was about 85 and they had a basking spot 24/7 consisting of a 50 watt red mini spot over a rock. I have also used Gentian Violet on the shell things that they get with wonderful results. Dry docking for from hours to overnight. I also add salt to their water, but not enough to measure any specific gravity. Good luck on treating them. I love mine and maybe next year can get them to breed. Beckee

I have these pink turtle eye drops that are put out my ZOO MED… They are a water based vitamin A type drop according to the ingredients. Is this what you are referring to? They are pink. I will probably pick up some vitamin A gel caps tomorrow and start that routine. Should I do this daily. I know intake wise vitamin A can be toxic to turtles. Topically (applied to eyes) I am correct in my thinking that it’s not toxic correct? Please correct me if I am wrong… I will wait before I apply… Thomas Do you Yahoo!? Everyone is raving about the all-new Yahoo! Mail.
