OK, I’m pretty new at this Turtle stuff, so don’t laugh at my questions…….Oh what do I care, go ahead and have a good laugh! Anyway, here’s my questions: 1) Do different breeds get it on? 2) Is a 2 1/2 inch DBT that is only 4 months old growing too fast? In other words, I’m I feeding her too much?? Here’s my situation. I have a Male 4 3/4 inch Red Eared Slider in a 90 gallon tank that is by himself (other than the 9 small fish that I have with him, which surprisingly, he doesn’t try to eat and appears to be pretty good freinds with all of them). I also have a 2 1/2 inch Concentric Diamondback that I think is a Female in a seperate tank. I plan on putting her in the 90 gallon tank with all the others as soon as she reaches 3 inches. I’m hoping that they are both about the same size as adults (roughly 9″), which, I guess means a bigger tank down the road, but here’s what I’m curious about. Will these two completely different turtles ever try to breed? This is probably a silly question and I’m hoping that they aren’t ever sexually attracted to each other, but still, I wonder if this is something I’ll have to deal with down the road??? On the food front, I’m feeding my little Diamondback twice a day (as recommended by Mr. Helms website). Mostly Baby Reptomin and Zoo Meds Hatchling food, but I throw in a few Freeze Dried baby shrimp or bloodworms also (not everyday, but usually only for the evening meal). This little girl gobbles all this down in no time flat (right around 5 minutes or less). I am absolutely fascinated at how fast she “attacks” her food…….she rarely will even stop eating to take a breath. So what’s the consensus, should I keep feeding her as is until the 6 month age (and then go down to once a day), or start slowing it down ASAP? Any and all thoughts or comments will be GREATLY appreciated! Like I said, I’m a relatively new “Turtle Guy” and I need all the help I can get! Many Thanks, JimboCraig
