Hi there, friends. I have a question about my little sick hatchling, Logan. I have him on a schedule of two units of Amikacin every other day, and he’s starting to move around some, but he’s still not eating. But now there is skin all hanging off of him. It is attached at his neck and his paw and it seems to be attached to his under- shell. It floats around him like a veil. What is this, please? Is it some kind of shedding? I worry because th two healthy dbts who are growing do not have it, but the tiny sick one does. Any ideas? Thanks, Donna
Donna, If he is peeling just as humans would after a sunburn, then he is simply shedding. However, the part where the skin is attached to the plastron worries me since there shouldn’t be any skin there. Are you sure that it is skin and not a coating of slime? -Chun
