I just received a wild caught female on Friday. She was fine for the first day, but now she is very sluggish and sick. I’m keeping her inside at 80 degrees. No obvious signs of respiratory trouble yet, but I’m assuming I’m dealing with some type of infection. Should I inject her with antibiotics or hold off? Anybody have success doctoring stressed out WC females? What’s the best drug? Anybody ever use penicilin? Thanks for your help. Richard
Hi Richard, If she is already sick and sluggish, then you can assume that she already has some sort of bacterial/viral infection. Best to start administering the antibiotics ASAP. Baytril is the drug of choice since it cures a wide range of ailments but I have also heard of successful results using Ciprol (good luck getting it). Never tried penicillin. -Chun — In diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com, “rrico248”
