I thought i posted this earlier, apparantly not, but I apologize if i’m repreating myself. I have three northern DBTs, one 6.5″ female, and two 3.5″ that appear to be female. The big girl is in a 72gal tank, the little ones in a 10gal together, and I’m ready to upgrade and put them together. How much space do they need? None are aggressive, they hang out together in the tub sometimes and get along great. I’ve heard lots of conflicting stories about depth, space, and groups in the same tank, so I wanted to get some idea of what size I’ll need – I’d like to not have to upgrade again. Any thoughts would really be appreciated. thanks! -annie
Hey Annie, Wow, If you really end up having 3 FULL grown Female DBT’s and you don’t want to upgrade again (and keep all 3 in the same tank)…………that’s a tough one! I just don’t see how a 120 gallon or something like that could hold them all when they are full grown. MAYBE a 200 gallon??? Your best bet would be an outdoor pond and then 2 or 3 tanks to house them over the winter. I really don’t have a good answer for you……..sorry. Anybody else have some ideas???
