Hi, I’m considering constructing a tank in the future as my dpts (two) get bigger. For those of you with adults, which do you think they will prefer water depth for diving or tank length for swimming laps. I suspect that they spend a lot of time looking for snails in the wild which are probably very abundant in relatively shallow water in salt marshes… Many people keep them in stock tanks. Do they spend much time on the bottom (ca. 36″ down)? I’m considering depths from 20 to 36″, lengths 6-8′, and width 20-36″. What do you think? Also, I’m considering planting the tank. In my limited experience, my dbts don’t seem to eat or even nibble on plants but they haven’t had many opportunities (oh yeah freshwater cb). Other then mechnical demage from swimming & looking for food what else should I anticipate? Kurt
