More questions :). If I do use my little 10 gal for a first time set up for hatchling what are the recommended items you long term dbt owners suggest. I have been told 3 different things by folks I know that have them-but it is not their specialty. DO you add real plants? 1. Said fill tank to top with fresh water and gravel on bottom with filter. 2. Said divide tank into 2/3 water and with glass/plexiglass divider have 1/3 with gravel and little ramp for turtle to climb onto this “land” area (this person siad even if raised in fresh wter to convert to brackish when older…) 3. Water halfway up in tank with floating platform and sand on bottom of tank What’s a new dbt mom to do? ๐ Next question. I was given a whole lot of critter supplies by someone I met online (nice huh?) 3 of the items included brand new (2) Day-Glo Heat Lamps 100 Watt Daylight incandescent broad spectrum and (1) Nocturnal Infrared Heat lamp 100 watt. Could these be used full time, in a pinch only, or are unsafe? I do have an aquarium hood I can put other type lights in but though I could maybe use these up first- Thanks! ~Francie Mom to 4 Russians, 3 cats, 2 cockatiels, 1 dog, 7 hermit crabs & soon 3 three-toed box turtles~ Do you Yahoo!?Shop for Back-to-School deals on Yahoo!
