I want to buy a huge above ground swimming pool and make it into a dimemond backed terrapin pond. What do I need to do?,Tyrone _________ Hi Tyrone, I’ve never done this but the individual I got my russian babies from did and it works well for him for his dbt’s. I saw it just after he moved and hadn’t finished setting it up but he had clay pots in the bottom for hides and added salt for brackish water. I imagne you’d need a pump to keep the water filtered. Others will give you lots more info I am sure. For now I just put mine in a baby pool for a few hrs when weather is nice. Later on I may do what you plan to as well. Personally I think it’s agreat idea- quick pond vs building one. Your dbt should love all the room to swim.
