Hi! Sorry I havn’t had the time to post. Wanted to update everyone on Tex. He’s doing a lot better. 🙂 I have the water at 80 degrees and I’m changing it every day. We just recently bought a filter, so he’ll be moving into a 20 gal this weekend. I think I read something about a cuttle bone. Is that the little white thing that pet birds like to peck at? Should I put one in the tank? What does it do? When I had my RES, we fed her gold fish occasionaly as a treat. I was told they are high in protein and fat. Is this the same for DBT? Also, I think he’s grown about 1/2 inch since I got him 3 weeks ago. 😀 ~Candace~
Candace, That’s great news. Instead of a cuttle bone try a small bird calcium block. I just toss it in the tank and all of my DBTs chow down on it. Vickie
