but right now i don’t think there’s anything much left to do for my dbt. she’s not moving very much, even when i tickle her little feet… i don’t think i ever told anyone her name.. we called her Uncle Henry, after a song by a band i liked and when we thought she was a male..she stretches her neck and moves her front legs a little bit but then goes back to being still. she seems very weak .. would it be of any help to try to take her to a vet right now? i’m online please send me a message, instant messenger is keslamia or my icq is 126168745 or email me kestral@… if you know of anything i could do for her at all.. should i try a warming pad to keep her warm? i’m sorry i’m dragging my problems all over the place.. thanks to everyone, i’m so sorry.. thank you

Tricia- I am no dbt expert but it sounds a LOT like what my dbt female was going through a couple of months ago (though my dbt is a pretty close to full grown). It wouldn’t hurt to take her to a vet, but make sure you find one that really can work with reptiles (I think there’s a link in the bookmarks to finding ARAV vets in your area)–I initially took our turtle to one our cat vet recommended as a “reptile” vet and the man didn’t know what he was doing. The vet I found through the ARAV site was amazing. I also took Vicki’s advice and took her out of the water so she wouldn’t drown. Then I put her in a rubbermaid box with a warm light in at least 80 degrees (used a gardening warming mat) and put betadine on her shell every day. The vet gave her daily shots of baytril and Flagyl, gave her a high calorie formula, and gave her fluid shots (plus rubbed her shell down with Novalsan). She pulled through after about 2 weeks. I could have sworn she was going to be a goner–she looked dead and the vet thought so too. She couldn’t lift her head or move. Good luck to you and Uncle Henry. Ro
