Hey everyone! I just wanted to thank everyone who took the time to answer my questions and to send me in the right way with my dbt. If you can remember she would only eat crickets and shrimp and refused pellets. Well about a week ago she bit into the pellets…now she’s eating like crazy, and it’s like she’s in a frenzy every time I feed her. She’s eating more than she ever did, and twice a day again. On crickets she’d be hungry but just couldn’t eat twice a day. I can see the difference already! Her feces looks healthy for the first time in her life and she’s growing and more active. I don’t know if I told you guys but I thought she was lonely when my other dbt died because she was lathargic, not eating, and didn’t feel like being held. Now she loves to come out and play and swims all around with energy and is eating like she did when she was tiny (she’s now about 4inches across the carapace.) I just wanted to thank you all for such great advice! I hope all is well with each of your beautiful dbts! Elaine
Elaine, Few things bring more joy than accounts like yours where a diamondback pulls through and thrives under the care of their owners. That’s what this group is for and in addition, I hope that we can also continue to encourage those that may have had failures to continue with this beautiful species. I know I’ve had to make that decision several times after losing some priceless specimens… Thanks again for sharing! Chun
