Two days ago, my turtle just stopped eating the fish that I have been feeding it. Along with that, it also seems to be less energenic. It use to swim around the tank, but now it just float on top of the water. I really don’t like to see him like this. Is there something wrong?

Are you feeding it only fish? It needs a lot more in it’s diet. Fish should be a treat, not a staple. You need to feed it Reptomin or similar turtle pellets. Maybe try some dried shrimp. See if that helps. If it starts listing to one side in the water, that could indicate pneumonia. If it gets ANY worse, I’d consider taking it to a Vet. You should also mention the age and some background info about the turtle’s surroundings (lighting, water changes, etc). Also, I assume it’s a DBT, but you didn’t mention it for sure… Walt G. —–Original Message—– From: grndtrn [mailto:grandtrain@…] Sent: Friday, April 26, 2002 8:30 PM To: diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com Subject: [diamondbackterrapins] Turtle Energy Down… Two days ago, my turtle just stopped eating the fish that I have been feeding it. Try giving it live snails. Those garden snails, I don’t remeber their real name. My love it. I have two painted turtles and two red eared sliders. Tamara B. — Glaeser Walt-P55431

Oh. so it can’t eat just fish. I got some reptile sticks, but I can’t seems to get the turtle to realize it is food. As for the turtle right now, it starts getting active and eating again. Not as much as before, though. — In diamondbackterrapins@y…, Glaeser Walt-P55431
