turtle injury to foot

we just noticed one of our guys has an injury to his left hind foot. it looks pretty bad – as though he pulled out one of his back nails and there is quite a bit of skin missing but no blood (he’s swimming around with his tank mate). he just ate, and we didn’t notice it when we put him in the feeding tank; maybe his brother bit him . . . does anyone know what to do? should we put him in the bathtub to dry out overnight? poor little guy, he is about 4 yrs old, we have never had any problmes with them before. thanks for any advice!
