Why are my Texas DBTs climbing out of my pond and burying themselves in a nearby land area? The turtles are 1 year old, the pond water quality is good, the temps here in N.Dallas have been nice, 70F to 92F. the turtles appear in good condition. Is this typical behavior and if so when will they return to the pond? Ed in Dallas

hello ed! your dbt turtles might just want more hiding places in your pond. is it just a pond woth water? or does it have logs ?add some things and see what happens 🙂 best wishes- Andrew Avila Get more from the Web. FREE MSN Explorer download : http://explorer.msn.com

Its got lots of places to hide. lots of rocks and plants. It is about 2500 gallons. I do have 4 dbt and about 10 other turtles (2 sliders, three painted, 1 musk, three map, 1 spotted, 1 cooter) in it though I have never seen any agressive behavior between turtles. — In diamondbackterrapins@y…, “Andrew Avila” http://docs.yahoo.com/info/terms/Get more from the Web. Maybe they are estivating? Maybe the temps are a little too warm for them so they are burying themselves til it gets a tad cooler. Just a thought. Vickie
