So Ive had this WC northern since february. She has yet to eat a bite on her own. I am at the point where i think it might be the incapibility of her to adapt to captivity. Can a DBT suffer from this? She has been in quaranteen since I got her. She has been through rounds of panacur, flagyl and baytril. I was thinking of putting her in my main DBt set up. It is much larger and has much more swimming and basking space. She does not appear to suffer from a disease… Do you guys think it woudl be safe to introduce her to my colony? Julie

Hi Julie, I would hold off on introducing her to you group until she starts to eat. Does she look interested in food? How warm is her water. I am assuming that you have tried shrimp, smelt, and other types of seafood. Have you tried hand feeding her? I would try some live cray fish or gold fish. I had a female that refused to eat anything but live cray fish, I was able to get her to eat shrimp, and now she loves smelt. If none of these thing work I would be surprised, unless she is sick. I have tried all those foods. The water is about 26C. She is not even interrested in food. I think that I am going to start force feeding her everyday to try and jump statr her metabolism. Julie Jonathan Helms wrote:
