Jonathan, Enjoyed the pics! I like the idea of feeding in the sinks, but how in the world do you keep the drains from clogging up with leftover smelt parts? -Chun — In diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com, “Jonathan Helms
Hi Chun, I am glad you liked the pictures. I take a large gold fish net and scoope out all of the leftover before I drain the sinks. I put the sinks in over a year ago and I haven’t had a problem yet. I love using the sinks for feeding. I didn’t have to completely drain a single tub last year. I do have to clean out the pondmaster filters about everyother week or so but that is no big deal. The water stays very clean since they don’t eat in it. For a while I was feeding them in smaller tubs but the disposal of the smelly fish water and half-eaten fish didn’t work very well. I am now running into a time problem since I now have 35 adult terrapins feeding them in the sinks takes a little over an hour. But it is worth it, they stay healthier and their water stay very clear all the time. Hey Jonathan, That’s a nice little world you have there, =) hehe. I can imagine the amount of work it takes to just feed them. I’ve fed mine in a tub and it was a pain after a month or so. But the sink is a great idea and you can just drain the water afterwards. By the way, how do you change the water in those large tubs? -James — In diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com, “Jonathan Helms
