The high ammonia levels in my tank most likely caused the parasite infection, whether it is ich or velvet. I just think the high ammonia lowered the fish’s immune system and allowed the parasite to flourish. After I had set up my sick tank last night I checked the ammonia level and it was at zero. I just can’t figure out why in my established tank the ammonia levels could get so out of control. Hopefully the Ammo-Lock will help solve that problem. For the meantime my fish will enjoy a three week vacation in their 30 gallon tank. — In diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com, “Michelle E. McGuffin”
