Is it ok to put water snails in with dbt’s. Will they eat them. I have MANY right now-mostly tiny. Thanks~ Francie Mom to 3 russian tortoises, 2 cats, 2 cockatiels, 1 dog, 3 hermit crabs, 3 three-toed box turtles, 1 teddy bear hamster, 3 dwarf african frogs & 2 goldfish~ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Francie, it’s best to stay away from water snails since they are parasite carriers. They can be detrimental at times if ingested by hatchlings. On another note, Happy New Year to all. -Chun — In diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com, Francie

Hi Francie…Fresh water crustaceans cary a certain kind of bacteria that is harmful to Terrapins. I would say no to freshwater snails and certainly Crayfish. Now saltwater crabs and snails are on their menu but not freshwater. Regards, Rich
