Hello, We have a 8 year old female diamondback that has been very healthy her whole life. But she had what seemed to be a skin infection about 3 months ago. She was put on antibiotic injections, we were given an antimocrobial wash for her skin and the lesions and discoloration eventually went away. But she now has very weak and soft connections all over her body. The center seam on her under shell which runs from her head to her tail is very weak and like a moving hinge. The connection between the top and bottom shell also has the swollen membrane and softness. And this is also the case where her mouth beak meets the skin of her face by her nose. The shell itself is not weak or soft. It is justs the gaskets or membrane that connects the segments of the shell. The vet said it could be a calcium deficiency due to the fact that her acquarium UV light was old and the UV part of it stops working after about 6 months even though the light is still on. So without the UV light, her body has been unable to use the calcium in her diet. The Vet said to get a new UV reptile bulb which we did and also to further supplement her daily meal with liquid calcium which he gave to us. This treatment has been going on for two weeks. We have seen no improvement. Has anyone every experienced this problem? Thank you for your assistance. Chuck
