I have notice my DBT’s are eliminating out their exit a long white string or ribbon about 6 inches long before it breaks off. Sometimes there are a pair of these strings. The strings appear to be ribbon like. The DBT’s behavior is otherwise normal. Is is mucous, a tape worm, or some sort of processing of the white cuttle bone,…..? It sort of looks like the kind of string you see on the inside of a banana when you peel a banana. I haven’t read anything about tape worms in aquatic turtles on any of the care sheets on the internet. But, I suppose there could be some sort of larvae in a bag of trout chow? Anyone seen this before????
