Hi group, I’ve noticed that for several days no one has said “boo” on this list. Where is everyone? We do have several new members that I would like to welcome. WELCOME to our dbt group. Maybe you new members could get things lively again by telling us about your diamondback terrapins or your setups. Maybe you have some questions you would like to ask. We have a wide range of experience in this group from novices to conservationists. We have some great photos in our files and if you have any clear photos that you would like to add please feel free to do so. I think the group is being pretty quite because alot of peoples dbts are asleep. But for the members that keep them indoors and awake all winter it would be great to hear from them about how things are going. And here I thought my computer had broked down or there was some problem with yahoo. I have some questions. I brought my turtle inside for the winter–Iowa has been super cold and I don’t think she could tolerate the -40 degrees at times. Her environment is not that warm. Out of the UV heat lamp, I’d say it’s about 70 degrees. Now since I don’t know much about eggs and the like, what should I do if she wants to lay eggs in her indoor environment? At what time in the spring should I expect her to do this? If she does, I can’t put her outside until April because it is WAAAAY too cold. She may not go outside until May given our winter this year. I am not sure what I’m asked, but what signs do I look for and then what? On another note, I looked for the Aquaclear 300 at our local petstores. One place had it for $70 and the second had it for $40. I guess I’ll be buying it online! Finally, I asked my mom to check the Asian grocery for more DBTs and she tells me that they are all frozen and not live anymore. )-: Poor turtles.
